Welcome to Wight Aerials
Sky TV are increasing subscription charges
Sky TV have announced that they are to increase subscription charges.
As of the 1st of September 2005, the cost of the family package is set to rise from
£19.50 to £21.00. The sky world package is set to rise from £41.00 to £42.50.
A general rise of £1.50.
Again I hear you all say, Why does the cost keep going up and up?
We have asked most of our customers of their feelings on this matter
and the general feeling seems to be "how can they justify another price
hike when there is nothing on there to watch except repeats all the
time - it hardly seems like there are any new programs coming out".
The feeling is that they will probably tell Sky to take a hike, and go
over to freeview where there are no subscription charges or price hikes.
We believe the next few months will be interesting for Sky, especially
if the down turn on sky and change over to freeview continues.. Watch
this space!
Southwight Broadband Ltd.
Wight Aerials and
IWPCs
have teamed up with
Southwight Broadband Ltd., Ventnor's wireless
community network, to provide a full installation and maintenance
service to existing and new customers.
Southwight Broadband is offering up to 2Mb wireless broadband for just
£10 per month plus a one off installation fee to most of Ventnor,
subject to a free coverage survey.
Wight aerials will handle the aerial side of the installation, while
IWPCs will take care of the computer and internal networking side of
things.
We believe this will be a valuable partnership, making the installation
process faster and trouble free.

Solent tv's signal has been boosted
Solent TV's signal has been boosted to give a better signal,
clearer picture and greater coverage throughout the Isle of Wight. Tune
in and try it for yourself!
Tuning into Solent TV
Solent TV is available through both terrestial aerial and cable
television on the Isle of Wight and South Coast.
The broadcast signal can be received by the majority of Island homes
depending on the age (and condition) of your aerial. Many people find
that a Wideband aerial improves the quality of their television's
reception.
Solent TV's signal is broadcast from the Rowridge transmitter which is
situated near Calbourne.
If your Aerial receives its television pictures from the Chillerton or Midhurst
transmitter then you will be unlikely to receive Solent TV's programmes
on your television. If you are unsure over which broadcast signal you
are watching then we suggest you contact us,and we will also advise you
if you need to upgrade your current aerial or equipment.
We recommend that before attempting to tune in your television that you
consult the instruction manual that was supplied with your television,
log on to the manufacturers website, or call us for advice.

Top Up TV trials new pay-per-day service
Digital terrestrial pay-TV service Top Up TV is testing a new
'pay-per-day' service called Xtraview which operates without a viewing
card.
Instead, viewers call a premium rate line which authorizes the £1-a-day payment for the service.
Top Up co-founder David Chance, a former Sky executive, said Xtraview is a "cheap and flexible service." A full launch for all viewers is expected to go ahead soon.
